Secured Signing provides industry-leading ID Verification of foreign and US passports for Remote Online Notarizations

Secured Signing’s industry-leading ID verification supports over 4,000 overseas and domestic IDs, from nearly 200 countries, making it the only RON platform that supports foreign passports in the market.

ID Verification provides fast, secure & user-friendly workflow for you and your clients allowing you to verify signer identity. ID Verification offers a robust and flexible solution when compared to a standard email link and SMS for multi-factor authentication.

“Since the outbreak of COVID and as we began entering new markets, like the US Notary Market for Remote Online Notarization, we saw an opportunity to add ID Verification to our authentication tool set,” says Mike Eyal, Founder and CEO at Secured Signing. “In a world where in-person signings are less likely to take place while social distancing practices are implemented, we wanted to give our users everything they needed to ensure that their clients and customers who are signing, are in fact who they said they are.”

ID Verification’s two-step process is simple and easy to use, with clients capturing an image of the front and back of their ID. The images are then scanned and analyzed against a database of over 4,000 IDs from nearly 200 countries and uses industry-standard markers such as the magnetic stripe, OCR content, UV holograms and barcodes on an ID to verify its legitimacy.

Clients will then take a selfie to score for liveness of the signer, utilizing the facial matching aspect of the software. Liveness ensures that you know the person who underwent ID Verification was in fact a live person.

This aspect [liveness score] of ID Verification is revolutionary as it prevents presentation attacks from fraudulent practices such as printed images, masks, recorded or synthetic video,” says Roger Castile, Senior Vice President of National Sales at Secured Signing Inc. “If a Liveness score falls below a certain threshold, the signer will be denied access to the documents and will be unable to sign.”

Secured Signing enhances the ID Verification process by creating a strong link between the ID and the document through data matching. Data matching allows you to pull from the data analyzed during the ID capture phase of the ID verification process and compare it to data provided by your client. This is fully configurable letting you choose the parameters to be matched to your client’s ID. The system notifies you of the results and lets you decide on how you would like to proceed if the client passes or fails.

Secured Signing customers are using ID Verification within legal, title and closing, and notary public industries.

About Secured Signing

Secured Signing provides a one stop digital signature service that delivers a full range of form completion and eSigning capabilities. Using advanced personalized X509 PKI Digital Signature technology, it is more secure than a plain electronic signature.

Secured Signing’s Digital Signature and RON platform all in one enables its users to use any device to capture their graphical signature, fill-in, sign, seal and verify documents anywhere, anytime.

Secured Signing: Secure Video Technology for Remote Witnessing

Secured Signing continues to innovate by providing Video Signing as part of the online signing to assist businesses during the pandemic.

Secured Signing’s Video Signing is a live, real-time video call between two (or more) parties, where identities can be verified, documents can be explained to ensure non-repudiation and documents can then be securely digitally signed using PKI encryption to ensure any future changes to the document will invalidate signatures.

Mike Eyal, CEO, Secured Signing says:” At Secured Signing we’re serious about your signature so we ensure we can verify who signed every document with video signing – recording the person who signed. We use Digital Signature (PKI encryption) technology that protects businesses and allows businesses to verify and prove that a document has not been modified after it has been signed.”

“From Video Signing, Two Factor Authentication by SMS and Audit Logs to time stamps, [negotiations], effective/contract execution date stamp and Witnesses – we’ve got every feature businesses will need in our completely adaptable and customizable software regardless of the Secured Signing account plan.”

The video & audio recording captures the entire video meeting, including any disclosures that are made plus watching all parties capture their signatures. A unique link and password for the video & audio recording are contained in the signed document. The tamper proof mechanism of the digital signature ensures the video recording details cannot be altered without invalidating the signature.

Video Signing provides the highest confidence in the identity of the signer.

Gal Thompson, General Manager, Secured Signing says “Our platform is fast and easy to use and has advanced features designed to safeguard businesses, documents and signatures.”

“Every digital signing solution says its legally binding….. but…. are they really? Without the advanced Digital Signature, for signer’s Identity, signing intent and document’s data integrity and signatures’ time stamping features offered by Secured Signing you may find the serious business document you got signed, isn’t valid and legally binding at all. Is it worth the risk?”

Industries that are using Secured Signing:

Victoria is the most advanced when it comes to allowing remote signing followed by NSW. With this new release, a Notary Public can now upload documents that need to be notarized into the Secured Signing platform and easily select where signatures are needed. From there they simply choose a time for the live video meeting and Secured Signing takes care of the rest.

Additional features available to notaries include guest participants if support is required during the signing process and the ability to add a witness process to allow Notarization of many types of documents includes wills and I9 forms, that require a witness.

Mike Eyal, the Founder and Managing Director of Secured Signing said “providing safe access to notary services has been a key focus of ours during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing a signer and notary in different locations to complete the signing and notarization process online”.

He also said “Secured Signing’s feature rich platform and X509 digital certificate technology provides any notary business full electronic signing capabilities for in person or remote signing by maintaining document security and the signer’s identity, all of which builds a system of trust”.

Companies can Now Sign Legally Binding Documents on Live Video Calls

A new live video signing feature protects companies against fraud and contract disputes while maintaining social distancing.

Secured Signing, one the world’s most trusted digital signature providers, today launched live Video Signing. This gives companies the power to sign legally binding documents on a video call.

Mike Eyal, the Managing Director of Secured Signing, said data showed companies were shifting more of their work online due to COVID-19. This shift has been driven by many countries updating their electronic signatures acts to allow documents to be signed and witnessed over video calls.

“What we are now seeing is that COVID-19 is changing everything about how most businesses operate. There is a sharp rise in remote work, and companies are no longer able to meet in person to witness and sign contracts. With Secured Signing Video Signing, the entire signing process takes place on a live video call.”

Digital signatures provide built-in proof of the signer’s identity and intent. Live Video Signing comes with even stronger identity verification features, making it difficult to dispute contracts. This protection, known as non-repudiation, means the identities & intent of everyone signing the document are confirmed and recorded. So, no one can later deny signing the document.

Secured Signing’s Video Signing also delivers a better customer experience with the signing meetings on the all-in-one platform able to be setup in seconds allowing more time to go through details of the contract and clearly explain them. The whole process is easy, fast, and safe, added Eyal.

“You’ll now be able to sign documents using video signing, from any device, anywhere in the world. So, for example, now notaries or lawyers or financial advisors can start a video conference with the document they need signed and walk the signee through the document in a live, recorded video with the final signature added at the end of the conference call.”

Eyal said the goal was to provide simple, secure signing in one easy-to-use tool.
“Our customers won’t need any additional video conference software. The signed document has an access link to video session recording that is password protected and can be viewed after signing meeting has ended”.

“COVID-19 has disrupted our lives. It’s not business as usual right now. Organizations are responding in their own way, and there’s a lot of doubt and uncertainty. One thing is certain is that we have to adapt, and technology makes that process a lot easier. We hope our video signing feature will give businesses the tools they need to finalize documents safely online,” said Eyal.

Simplify Signing process by using Single Sign On with Secured Signing

Secured Signing offers Single Sign On (SSO) functionality with our Enterprise Plans. Choose between Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) or Azure Active Directory (AD) and take advantage of a seamless end to end experience.

With the growing number of systems, applications and websites that we use regularly, it is getting harder to remember so many passwords. Nowadays, more companies implement single sign-on across their infrastructures to provide a better user experience.

We know that our users access other applications relating to productivity and collaborations during the digital signing process. This why the sign once and done experience is becoming so popular” said Mike Eyal, Managing Director of Secured Signing. SSO provides users with the convenience of having to remember only a single set of credentials. This also improves security as users find it easier to remember their credentials and do not have to write them down, allowing for a more efficient user logon process.

Aside from better user experience, there are other benefits to SSO. For instance, with SSO you can improve your security by enforcing a uniform enterprise authentication and authorization policies across the enterprise. SSO systems have more secure storage of authentication credentials and encryption keys.

Companies will also find SSO allows for easier accounts management. In one go you can see what system access is available to which users. Another advantage is the ability to control identity management and permissions across all integrated systems. You can set up roles to cover access rights for multiple user groups and multiple systems.

“We are excited to offer our customers the ability to choose SSO with Secured Signing. It enables a smooth user experience, boosts efficiency whilst being cost effective as it reduces their maintenance burden. This is another important step in providing our customers more choice” says Eyal.

Know Your Customer (KYC) with Video Confirmation and Secured Signing

It seems obvious but it bears repeating. Being absolutely clear on who is signing your document, not only makes good business sense, it is also a compliance requirement for many industries. Adding video confirmation to Secured Signing’s usual signing process ensures there can be no doubt about who signed your document.

Even if your business is not subject to anti money laundering and counter terrorism financing (AML/CTF) legislation, robust customer due diligence practices will give you a competitive advantage, limit your exposure to the risk of loss and protect your business from damage to its reputation. It’s also just plain good sense. If there is ever a dispute, being able to simply and clearly demonstrate who signed your document will ensure you are best placed to recover monies owed or the return of equipment hired or leased.

It is not just banks and other lenders that need to comply with the customer due diligence requirements of AML/CTF legislation. A recent mutual evaluation of Australia’s AML/CTF frameworks gave an overall pass mark, but highlighted key areas of concern. Research by AUSTRAC, the Australian government’s financial intelligence agency, indicates the outcomes around customer due diligence (CDD) vary from very high confidence to closer to 50% confidence in customer identity. This is an area that needs to improve as AUSTRAC rightly identifies that knowing your customer is “the cornerstone of an effective AML/CTF regime.” It is not surprising that regulatory reform proposals recommend both more explicit CDD requirements and the application of CDD requirements to a broader range of industries.

Secured Signing’s video confirmation capability is a simple yet powerful tool to demonstrate you know exactly who is signing your documents.

Customers expect to be able to transact business with you online. Inviting your customers to sign documents online with Secured Signing gives you the capability to meet this expectation of customer convenience while enjoying the security, authenticity and reliability that only tamper proof digital signatures can provide. Adding a video confirmation to your online signing process gives you complete confidence you know who you are dealing with and in particular who signed your agreement.

When you ask customers to use video confirmation in the signing process, they are prompted to record a short video before they sign the document. The whole process takes no more than 10 seconds. The video records a specific gesture which is recorded in the Secured Signing document log and the video’s secure location is appended to the document and sealed with the PKI digital signature, ensuring the details cannot be modified without invalidating the signature.

If your non face to face transactions don’t give you this degree of confidence in knowing who your customer is, it is time to closely evaluate the benefits Secured Signing can give you. The best first step is to open a free evaluation account and try video confirmation of signing yourself.  Secured Signing’s website provides a lot more detail on how video confirmation works to deliver unquestionable confirmation of signer’s identity.

As always, if you have specific questions, please get in touch and someone will contact you personally.

Secured Signing releases world first Video Confirmation of identity for eSignatures

Adding video confirmation to the eSigning process bolsters the independent signature verification of PKI user based digital signatures to deliver unparalleled document security and compliance for Secured Signing’s customers.

Secured Signing expands its already impressive identity confirmation capabilities with a world first use of video confirmation as part of the online signing process to deliver signed documents that provide unchallengeable proof of agreement.

Video confirmation in the signing process is live on Secured Signing today and available to all customers at no extra cost. This new method to confirm the identity of the signer continues a sustained release of new capabilities over the last year, making Secured Signing the most comprehensive and, certainly, the most innovative platform for online signing available in the market.

Our primary goal for Secured Signing is to make it quick and simple for the document signer while delivering the most secure, authentic and reliable outcome for the document owner,” says Mike Eyal, Founder and Managing Director of Secured Signing. “Video confirmation does exactly that, taking just a few seconds for the signer while giving the document owner a signed document that cannot be reasonably challenged.”

Capturing video of the signer, in a way that is uniquely tied to the document being signed, is a more sophisticated use of biometric authentication than the fingerprint and image based methods that are now familiar. While much has been made of the bypasses for these static methods, a moving image is a much stronger authentication method.

Secured Signing’s video confirmation also varies the specific confirmation process each time. Analysis of the video in real time for a match to the confirmation process determines an authentication pass or fail. Holding an image to the camera will not pass the video confirmation analysis.

Video confirmation enhances the already sophisticated tamper proofing and signer verification mechanism inherent in Secured Signing’s use of PKI user based digital signatures. Put simply, Secured Signing is now the most secure way to sign a document online for financial services and contracts signing. The combination of ease of use for the signer and absolute compliance confidence for the document owner is without peer.

Exit the PDF Forms Dead-End with Secured Signing Form Filler

Turning Static PDFs into Active Workflows

You invested time and effort into adding fillable fields to your PDF forms, hoping to make life easier for your customers. But in reality, traditional fillable PDFs are often a “dead end.” While they can be filled out on a screen, they almost always require the user to print, sign, and scan them back to you.

In this final installment of our series on the new Secured Signing capabilities, we’re showing you how to turn those “decorative” signatures into legally binding, fully digital processes using Form Filler.

Beyond the “Print and Scan” Bottleneck

A massive refresh of the Secured Signing platform has introduced features designed to eliminate administrative friction. If you are just joining us, here is a quick look at what’s new:

  • Mobile-First Design: Enhanced support for signing on the go.

  • Invitation Rerouting: Flexibility to send documents to the right decision-maker.

  • Declination Options: A professional way for invitees to decline an invitation with feedback.

  • Multi-Factor Authentication: Options for stronger identity verification.

Maximize Your ROI on Existing PDF Forms

The most significant update for document managers is the ability to directly import fillable PDF forms into our Form Filler tool. You no longer have to choose between a “simple” form and a “complex” one; you can now upgrade what you already have.

Why Form Filler is the Solution for Static PDFs

Secured Signing has always led the way in form capability, and these improvements make the transition to digital seamless:

  • Automatic Field Recognition: When you upload your PDF to Form Filler, it recognizes your existing fields and converts them automatically.

  • Template Creation: Once converted, save your form as a template for repeated use, ensuring consistency across your organization.

  • Zero-Print Workflow: Your customers can fill, sign, and return the document without ever touching a piece of paper.

Dynamic Options: Form Filler vs. Form Direct

Depending on your needs, we offer two paths to digital forms:

  1. Form Filler: Best for converting existing printable or fillable PDFs into online-ready documents.

  2. Form Direct: Best for complex forms requiring internal logic, “if/then” rules, and data validation via dynamic HTML.

A Better Experience for Your Customers

The biggest winner in this digital shift is the end-user. Traditional PDF forms are notoriously difficult to handle on mobile devices. By converting these to true online forms:

  • Any Device, Any Browser: Customers can complete forms on a smartphone, tablet, or PC without needing specialized PDF software.

  • Instant Submission: The moment they sign, the document is sealed and returned to you, cutting days off your turnaround time.

Take the Next Step Toward Digital Maturity

Don’t let your fillable PDFs remain a “dead end.” Put them to work and give your customers the modern experience they expect.

Ready to try it? Click the Form Filler button in your dashboard, upload your existing PDF, and see the conversion in action.
