Home // Support // How to Use Witness Pool
The witness pool feature allows you to create witness pools using shared email addresses, so when you send a document or package in RON with a witness pool added, an email will be sent to that shared email, allowing a user with access to the email to assign themselves as the witness for the signing process.
Witness Pool is disabled by default, you can enable it by following these steps:
MANAGE WITNESS POOLS
You can edit, remove existing witness pools, or add new witness pools by going back to the ‘Manage Witness Pools’ pop-up in the notary settings.
To add a witness pool to a RON signing process, start from the RON wizard in ‘My Documents’, then continue through the wizard to the Add Clients / Notary page.
After you enter the signer details, click the Add Witness button, then check ‘Use a Witness Pool’ for the witness. This will show a dropdown with all the witness pools you have added to your account, select one from the dropdown before continuing.
HOW TO ASSIGN YOURSELF AS A WITNESS
Once you have sent the RON document/package out, the witness pool’s email will receive an invitation email asking them to assign a witness, entering their email and name. This is the screen they will see when they open the link in the email:
REASSIGN THE WITNESS TO THE WITNESS POOL
If a user from the witness pool has already assigned themselves as the witness, but you would like to reassign the witness to the witness pool so another user can assign themselves, you can do so by following the below instructions:
