Secured Signing provides digital signature with ID Check

Secured Signing are pleased to announce the ability to perform an online ID Check within the eSigning process.

The combination of PKI digital signing with identify verification provides complete confidence in both the reliability of the document and the identity of the signer.


Posting documents to customers to sign and return involved an act of faith that the person who signed it was the person intended. The transition to online signing provides more confidence you have the right person signing. Any number of people may open a document sent to a PO Box or a residential address whereas email addresses are individual.


To provide greater confidence in who is signing your document, Secured Signing also provides the option for what is called two factors authentication. This means that to sign the document, the person requires a code sent to them by SMS.


ID Check provides even stronger validation of a person’s identity. It avoids the need to have a face to face check of identity documents such as driver’s license and passport. Instead, validation of those documents can be completed as part of the signing process – completely online.


Secured Signing have partnered with a range of online identity document verification services including RealMe. When you invite someone to sign a document you can opt to require them to verify their identity using one of these services. Before signing the document, the signatory is asked to supply the details of their driver’s license or passport which is verified online, in real time. The details of the identity documents are stored as part of the signed document and the audit trail for the document.
