Step by Step for IPEN: In-Person Electronic Notarization

The new In-Person Electronic Notarization (IPEN) feature allows you to notarize documents with your signers face to face, while still signing electronically and securely with Secured Signing.

To enable this feature in a standard business account, go to My Account -> My Settings -> Notary, then check ‘Enable IPEN’.

IPEN - Enable IPEN for Business Account

To enable the feature for accounts in a membership, login to the enterprise portal and go to Settings  -> Notary, then check ‘Enable IPEN’ for the accounts you would like.

IPEN - Enable Ipen for Membership Accounts

Once you have enabled IPEN, you will see a new button in the ‘My Documents’ page labelled ‘Notary (IPEN)’. Clicking this will take you to the IPEN wizard, which will take you through the process of preparing and sending your document, similarly to the RON wizard.

Upon sending a document through IPEN, the notary will receive a notification email, providing them with a link to the Face2Face / IPEN Portal, where the invitees and notary will be able to access the document to sign from the notaries computer.
